Stephen Case

Stephen Case is the Managing Director and General Counsel at Emerald Development Managers LP, an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York City, New York. At the firm, he oversees legal operations and investments targeting seed, early venture, and Series A funding rounds across the Eastern United States. The firm primarily allocates capital to technology companies operating within the life sciences, enterprise software, cybersecurity, healthcare IT, and cleantech sectors. Case graduated from Columbia Law School in 1968 and later helped establish the Davis Polk and Wardwell Scholarship to support incoming students. He currently serves as a Columbia University trustee and received the institution's Medal for Excellence in 2011 for his ongoing governance contributions.
