Stephen Berenson

Stephen Berenson is an Advisor Partner at Flagship Pioneering and currently serves on the corporate boards of Seres Therapeutics and Inari. Prior to assuming his current advisory position in 2025, he spent eight years as a Managing Partner at Flagship Pioneering, where he successfully established the venture firm's Capital Formation and Business Development teams. During his tenure, Berenson served on the board of directors for Moderna, guiding the biotechnology company from its pre-IPO stage through its rapid global expansion during the COVID-19 pandemic. His previous governance experience includes board seats at CIBO Technologies and Repertoire Immune Medicines, complementing his analytical foundation built upon an SB in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today, Berenson focuses on applying his extensive capital formation expertise to scale early-stage life sciences and biotechnology portfolio investments across the broader healthcare sector.
