Stephan Schambach is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NewStore, an omnichannel retail software platform based in Boston, Massachusetts. A serial e-commerce entrepreneur, he previously founded Demandware in 2004, guiding the cloud-based commerce provider through its 2012 initial public offering before its eventual $2.8 billion acquisition by Salesforce in 2016. Before Demandware, Schambach launched Intershop Communications in 1992, creating one of the first standard software solutions for online shopping and leading the company to a successful 1998 public listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. At NewStore, he has secured more than $130 million in venture capital funding from institutional investors including General Catalyst to develop mobile-first retail technologies for global consumer brands. His professional career spans over three decades of building foundational enterprise software companies that continue to shape the modern digital commerce infrastructure.
