Srini Akkaraju

Srini Akkaraju is the Founder and Managing General Partner at Samsara BioCapital, a venture capital firm focused on biotechnology investments. Before founding Samsara, he served as a General Partner at Sofinnova Ventures from 2013 to 2016 and was a Managing Director at New Leaf Venture Partners between 2009 and 2013. His earlier career includes roles as a Managing Director at Panorama Capital, a Partner at J.P. Morgan Partners, and a corporate development executive at Genentech from 1998 to 2001. Drawing on nearly 20 years of life sciences experience, he currently holds board seats at Scholar Rock and Syros Pharmaceuticals, having previously served as a director for Seattle Genetics and Intercept Pharmaceuticals. Holding an MD and a PhD in Immunology from Stanford University, Akkaraju focuses his investment strategy on translating advanced biological research into novel therapeutic treatments.
