Spencer Maughan

Spencer Maughan is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Finistere and the Founder of DYDX Capital, based in Palo Alto, California. Previously, he served as an entrepreneur-in-residence for the $1 billion Green Growth Fund at KPCB and worked as an investor at Venrock, a firm with over $2 billion in assets under management. His prior investment portfolio includes notable technology and sustainability companies such as Nest Labs, which was acquired by Google, Phononic Devices, and Lucid Motors. Maughan holds a PhD and BSc in Genetics from the University of Melbourne, completed a Marie Curie Fellowship at the University of Cambridge, and earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He currently directs his venture capital investments at the intersection of technology and sustainability while serving on the boards of organizations like ZeaKal and CSIRO.
