Spencer Lake

Spencer Lake is a Partner at Element Ventures based in London, United Kingdom, where he leads seed and Series A investments across the European technology sector. Before his promotion to Partner in 2024, he served as an Investment Director at the firm from 2017 to 2022, following earlier roles at MMC Ventures and Barclays Capital. Over his decade-long venture capital career, Lake has directed more than twenty investments as a lead or co-lead, managing an active portfolio of over fifteen companies. His track record includes the 2023 acquisition of portfolio company Tessian by Proofpoint, and he recently led a 2025 investment supporting the European expansion of SentinelOne. Holding an economics degree from the University of Cambridge, his current investment focus centers on scalable business-to-business solutions within enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
