Soumitra Sengupta

Soumitra Sengupta is a Venture Partner at Elevate Capital and an Executive-in-Residence at The Idea Village, based in Seattle, Washington, while spending time in New Orleans. He brings over 30 years of executive experience in product development and engineering, highlighted by a 15-year tenure at Microsoft where he contributed to major platforms including Azure, SQL Server, and Power BI. Prior to his current investment and advisory roles, Sengupta held senior leadership positions at enterprise technology firms such as UiPath, Philips Electronics, and Kanari Digital. He began his career developing computer vision and machine learning autonomous systems, and he is an alumnus of Tulane University, the Indian Institute of Science, and Jadavpur University. Today, Sengupta focuses on venture investing, team building, and mentoring early-stage technology startup founders across the Seattle and New Orleans innovation ecosystems.
