Sophie Winwood

Sophie Winwood is the CEO and co-founder of unlock VC and an Operating Partner at Foxe Capital, based in London, UK. She previously spent over five years as a Principal and Associate at Anthemis Group, where she led early-stage insurtech and fintech investments across both the European and US markets. Before entering venture capital, Winwood headed partnerships at Innovate Finance, managing global engagement with major corporate members including Visa. In April 2022, she co-founded unlock VC, originally known as WVC:E, growing the platform to support over 1,000 women in venture capital and hosting an annual summit with more than 400 attendees. Equipped with a master's degree in molecular and cellular biochemistry from the University of Oxford, Winwood currently focuses on early-stage financial technology investing and advancing gender diversity within the global venture capital ecosystem.
