Sophia Yu

Sophia Yu is a Software Investment Associate at Foothill Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm specializing in cross-border technology investments between the United States and China. Born and raised in Hangzhou, China, she initially built her academic foundation by completing her undergraduate studies in Economics and Finance at Tsinghua University. Yu subsequently relocated to the United States to advance her financial and strategic expertise, earning a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management. In her current capacity at Foothill Ventures, an institution that previously operated under the name Tsingyuan Ventures, she is responsible for sourcing and evaluating early-stage funding opportunities across various technical disciplines. Her current investment focus centers on software and deep tech startups, specifically targeting emerging companies operating within artificial intelligence applications, enterprise software-as-a-service, and the mobility sector.
