Sonja Perkins

Sonja Perkins is the Managing Director of The Perkins Fund and the Founder of Broadway Angels and Project Glimmer. Prior to launching her own fund in 2016, she spent 22 years at Menlo Ventures, where she became the firm's youngest general partner at age 29 in 1994. During her tenure, she was named the firm's investor of the year six times and backed enterprise technology companies including F5 Networks and Acme Packet. Perkins holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the University of Virginia, where she currently serves on the board of The Center for Politics. Through Broadway Angels, she established an investment network comprising over 60 female investors and entrepreneurs. Her current investment focus centers on early-stage, mission-driven startups, with a portfolio featuring over 50% women founders and 12% Black women founders.
