Somak Chattopadhyay

Somak Chattopadhyay is the Managing Partner at Armory Square Ventures, based in New York State. Since joining the firm in 2014, he has led early-stage investments across emerging venture regions, drawing on an investing career that began in 1999. Previously, he served as a Partner at Tribeca Venture Partners, where he was instrumental in launching its first and second venture funds, and worked as a venture capitalist at Edison Ventures sourcing technology-enabled service investments. Earlier in his career, Chattopadhyay held senior marketing and business development roles at Medtower and DealTime, a comparison shopping platform that completed a NASDAQ IPO before being acquired by eBay for $620 million. He currently serves on the board of the Upstate Capital Association of New York and focuses on funding technology startups operating outside of traditional coastal hubs.
