Sofia Ioannidou

Sofia Ioannidou is a Partner on the Life Sciences team at Andera Partners, where she leads early to late-stage investments across Europe and the US. She joined the venture capital firm as an Associate in 2009 and was promoted to her current role in 2019, following previous positions at LEK Consulting from 2006 to 2008 and Eyetech Pharmaceuticals from 2003 to 2006. Ioannidou holds a PhD in Cell Biology from Cancer Research UK, earned in 2004, and an MBiochem from the University of Oxford. Throughout her tenure, she has contributed to numerous trade sales and IPOs while holding board seats at portfolio companies including Bioptimus, Nouscom, Tubulis, Tricares, and LogicBio Therapeutics. Her investment focus targets breakthrough therapeutics and medical technologies, with a specific emphasis on antibody-drug conjugates, immuno-oncology, and artificial intelligence applications in biology.
