Smita Sircar

Smita Sircar is the President and CEO of Gray Matters Capital, an investment firm headquartered in NCR-Delhi, India. She began her career in 2001 at ICICI Bank, where she operated from London and managed a savings product holding two billion pounds in deposits. Sircar holds an electrical engineering degree and earned an MBA in finance from the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research. After joining Gray Matters Capital as its first India-based employee in 2016, she architected edLABS, an $8 million early-stage venture fund dedicated to education entrepreneurs. Under her leadership, the firm relocated its global headquarters from the United States to India to operate closer to its target emerging markets. Her current focus centers on social impact investing, financial inclusion, and mobile technology solutions designed to support women across developing economies.
