Doctor Simon Lambert is the Deputy Director for Electrification and a Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University, based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom. He holds a doctorate and a master of engineering degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the university, having also completed a prior tenure as a visiting researcher at Zhejiang University in China. Throughout his seventeen-year academic career, he has collaborated extensively on advanced battery science projects with several major automotive manufacturers, including industry leaders like Nissan, Renault, and Daimler. He currently leads the test and dismantling workstream for the Faraday Institution ReLiB recycling project and directs large-scale safety testing for its SAFEBATT initiative. Since 2015, his comprehensive research portfolio focusing on power electronics, battery systems engineering, and sustainable energy technologies has successfully generated over 5.9 million pounds in grant awards.
