Simon Farshid

Simon Farshid is the founder and chief executive officer of assistant-ui, an open-source React toolkit designed for building production-grade artificial intelligence chat experiences. Prior to launching his current venture, he co-founded READO, a consumer-facing book recommendation engine that he successfully scaled to reach 140,000 monthly active users. Farshid holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and reportedly began programming at the age of twelve. Demonstrating a highly competitive technical foundation, he has secured victories at eight distinct software hackathons across five different international countries. His current enterprise, assistant-ui, was recently selected to participate in Y Combinator as a member of the prominent accelerator's Winter 2025 cohort. Farshid maintains a primary professional focus on developing advanced machine learning interfaces, user experience design, and scalable developer tools.
