Simba Gill

Simba Gill is an Executive Partner at Flagship Pioneering and Chair of the Board of Directors at Evelo Biosciences, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Before returning to Flagship in August 2022, he served as the CEO and President of Evelo Biosciences from its 2015 inception, guiding the biotechnology company through Phase 2 clinical trials for inflammatory diseases. His prior executive experience includes serving as the CEO of moksha8 Pharmaceuticals from 2006 to 2015, President of Maxygen, and an entrepreneur in residence at TPG Capital. Earlier in his career, he worked as a global marketing director at Boehringer Mannheim prior to its acquisition by Roche, and he holds a Ph.D. from King’s College London alongside an MBA from INSEAD. Gill currently focuses on corporate development, platform strategy, and governance for portfolio bioplatform companies across the life sciences sector.
