Shubham Choudhary

Shubham Choudhary is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of FirstWork, an HR technology platform backed by Y Combinator, based in San Francisco, California. Founded in July 2024 alongside co-founder Vardhan Kapoor, FirstWork provides payroll, insurance, and point-of-sale integrations specifically designed for seasonal and frontline workers. Prior to this, he served as Director of Engineering at Deel from April 2023 to July 2024, where he directed the development of professional employer organization, immigration, and time-tracking products. He previously worked as a Senior Engineering Manager at Rippling, leading a team of more than 40 engineers to build the core infrastructure for the company's employer of record systems. Choudhary's technical background centers on scaling large engineering teams and developing complex human resources infrastructure, with a current focus on optimizing workforce management and international compliance for frontline employment sectors.
