Shivam Patel

Shivam Patel is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bristle, an oral health and genomics company based in San Francisco, California. He established the company in 2020 to develop at-home saliva tests that analyze the oral microbiome for early detection of dental decay and gum disease. Under his leadership, Bristle successfully completed the Y Combinator accelerator program and secured over $3 million in seed funding to expand its proprietary testing platform and clinical operations. Prior to launching his own venture, Patel built his expertise in genomics and biotechnology by serving in strategic and operational roles at Illumina, a leading developer of integrated systems for large-scale analysis of complex genetic variation. His career centers on leveraging advanced sequencing technologies and microbiome research to transition healthcare from reactive treatments to proactive, data-driven preventative dental care.
