Shila Nieves Burney

Shila Nieves Burney is the Founder and Managing Partner of Zane Venture Fund, a venture capital firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. Leveraging a background in operations and administration, she transitioned into venture capital after spending over two decades managing human resources and institutional support roles within corporate and educational environments. Prior to establishing her investment firm, Burney held administrative and operational leadership positions at organizations including Atlanta Public Schools, where she focused on systemic organizational development. She holds a degree in Business Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, an institution that helped shape her current focus on supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs. In addition to her core fund, she launched Zane Access, a capital readiness cohort program designed to connect diverse founders with strategic corporate partners and investors. Burney currently focuses on deploying capital to diverse technology companies.
