Shekinah Adewumi

Shekinah Adewumi is a Venture Partner at Byld Ventures and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Apata, an emerging financial technology company. Prior to her current executive and investment roles, she built and scaled Touchtech Payments, a digital payments startup that was successfully acquired by Stripe. In May 2022, she officially joined Byld Ventures to direct capital toward early-stage African fintech investments, and her own enterprise, Apata, subsequently secured financial backing from the venture firm in September 2022. Adewumi operates within a prominent network of regional technology founders, maintaining close professional associations with the entrepreneurs behind VANSO, which was acquired by Interswitch, and Amplify, which was purchased by Carbon. Her professional background is entirely focused on building, scaling, and funding early-stage financial technology infrastructure and digital payment systems across the rapidly growing African market.
