Shawn Ellis

Shawn Ellis is the Managing Partner at Distributed Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to leading the $100 million venture fund, he served as Executive Vice President at NFP, where he spearheaded the firm's initial corporate venture capital initiatives before spinning out the independent investment entity. Ellis previously held the title of President at Zest Health, a digital health platform, and served on the board of directors for telemedicine provider Zipnosis. He began his early professional career in corporate development and strategic planning, supported by a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. His current venture investment focus centers on identifying, funding, and scaling seed to Series A startups operating across the insurtech, healthtech, and fintech sectors.
