Sharif El-Badawi

Sharif El-Badawi is the Founding Managing Partner at Plus Venture Capital (+VC), an early-stage venture investment firm focused on the Middle East and North Africa region. Before launching the $60 million +VC fund, he served as a Managing Partner at 500 Startups, where he oversaw the $33 million 500 Falcons fund and invested in over 175 startups across 15 countries. Alongside his investment partner Hasan Haider, El-Badawi has executed more than 200 venture transactions within the regional technology ecosystem. His prior operational background includes nearly seven years at Google, which he joined following the search giant's $750 million acquisition of the mobile advertising network AdMob in 2009. Today, El-Badawi leverages his extensive experience as a serial entrepreneur and corporate operator to bridge Silicon Valley resources with emerging seed-stage technology companies across the MENA region.
