Shankar Chandran

Shankar Chandran is a Partner at Walden Catalyst Ventures, where he invests in early-stage deep-tech and artificial intelligence infrastructure startups. With over 24 years of venture capital experience, he has supported more than 75 company founders and currently serves on the boards of several startups, including Galileo, Opaque Systems, and MindsDB. Previously, Chandran served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director at the Samsung Catalyst Fund and was a founding team member at Panorama Capital. Earlier in his career, he held engineering and business development roles at Applied Materials, where he earned eight patents as a primary inventor. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MS from Arizona State University, and a BTech from IIT BHU. Chandran focuses his current investments on breakthrough data infrastructure and applied AI technologies.
