Shahzad Malik

Shahzad Malik is a General Partner at Advent Life Sciences, where he directs venture capital investments across the European and United States markets. He holds a Master of Arts in Physiological Sciences from Oxford University and a Doctor of Medicine from Cambridge University. Prior to his transition into international finance, Malik specialized in interventional cardiology and conducted extensive clinical research focused on heart muscle disorders. Since joining Advent Life Sciences in 1999, he has actively managed investments in more than 30 portfolio companies spanning all sectors of the life sciences industry. He currently serves on the board of directors for several medical technology and biotechnology firms, including Orphalan, Moximed, Curve Therapeutics, and Proximie. His current focus remains on leveraging his dual background in clinical medicine and finance to scale early-stage healthcare and therapeutic enterprises.
