Shachar Oren

Shachar Oren is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sound Media Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm. Through SMV Fund I, he oversees Seed to Series A investments targeting scalable technologies across a diverse range of industries. Initially focused on media and entertainment technologies, the firm has since expanded its investment mandate to include deep technology sectors such as generative artificial intelligence and embodied AI. Oren leads a team of directors that includes industry professionals like Michael Behringer, Bill Campbell, Randall Foster, Todd Harris, and David Strickland. In addition to direct investments spanning logistics, healthcare, defense, and space exploration, he manages a fund-of-funds entity that partners with other fund managers globally. His current focus centers on identifying and supporting founders building scalable artificial intelligence and deep tech solutions for enterprise and industrial applications.
