Seth Berman

Seth Berman is a General Partner at Soma Capital based in San Francisco, California, where he leads global seed and Series A investments. At Soma Capital, which manages over $500 million in assets, he oversees a portfolio of more than 50 companies and has backed notable unicorns including Brex and Karat. Recently, he led a $100 million investment in the artificial intelligence startup Nexus Labs in March 2025 and joined the board of Forge Dynamics in January 2026. Prior to his current role, Berman served as a Managing Director at GGV Capital from 2017 to 2021 and held earlier venture capital investment positions at Foundation Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in finance from the University of Colorado Boulder and currently focuses on scaling early-stage software, fintech, and enterprise SaaS ventures.
