Sebastian Schaefer

Sebastian Schaefer is a Partner at Picus Capital based in the Greater Munich Metropolitan Area, Germany. Joining the venture capital firm in 2018 as one of its first three employees, he was instrumental in building and leading its pre-seed investment strategy before his promotion to partner in March 2023. He focuses on early-stage investments across the human capital, energy technology, and financial technology sectors, leading funding rounds for European startups such as Avi Medical, Limehome, Selina Finance, and GetPaid. Prior to his venture capital career, Schaefer worked in strategy consulting at Roland Berger, gained experience in corporate transaction advisory, and earned a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics. He currently directs capital allocation for pre-seed, seed, and Series A rounds while actively supporting portfolio founders from their initial company launch phases.
