Sebastian Pünzeler

Sebastian Pünzeler is a Senior Investment Manager at Coparion, where he directs life science venture capital investments in Germany. Before joining Coparion in 2016, he began his professional venture capital career at Gimv in Munich. He holds a diploma in biology from RWTH Aachen University and LMU Munich, alongside a PhD in epigenetics and chromatin biology from the International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Life Sciences. In his current capacity, Pünzeler manages investments in regional start-ups and represents Coparion across nine distinct portfolio companies. His board memberships include active roles at Abalos Therapeutics, Fasciotens, Protembis, and Tubulis, having joined the latter's board of directors during its Series B financing in May 2022. His primary focus remains on leveraging his deep scientific expertise to evaluate, fund, and scale early-stage biotechnology and life sciences enterprises.
