Sean Whitney

Sean Whitney is a Principal at Craft Ventures based in California, where he specializes in early-stage technology investments. Before transitioning to venture capital, he gained operational experience as an early employee on the Finance and Business Operations team at Figma, focusing on self-serve strategy. He holds a bachelor's degree from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, which he completed in 2012, and subsequently earned an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship in 2016. At Craft Ventures, Whitney has directed capital into multiple enterprise software startups, notably leading the firm's Series A investment in Knock in 2023 before its eventual exit. His broader investment portfolio also includes equity positions in emerging technology companies such as Arcol, Ditto, Cartwheel, and Parade. Whitney currently focuses his venture investment strategy on bottom-up SaaS, developer tools, and artificial intelligence platforms.
