Sean Petersen

Sean Petersen is the Sector Lead for enterprise and industrial investments within the Wellington Private Climate Investing group at Wellington Management. He brings over 25 years of experience in venture capital and structured finance to his current position, where he manages private company investments in climate solutions, builds the team, and integrates firm research. Previously, Petersen served as a General Partner at AI Fund from 2019 to 2020 and as a Venture Lead at International Finance Corporation between 2011 and 2019, focusing on climate, education, and impact investing. His earlier career includes a directorship at Good Energies Incorporated, founding team roles at Swapswire Limited and Blackbird Holdings, and an associate position at Merrill Lynch. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School.
