Scott Roth

Scott Roth is the Managing Member of First In Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut. He currently focuses on seed stage investments across the biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and digital health sectors. Before entering the venture capital industry, he served as a nuclear engineer in the United States Navy and subsequently worked as a proprietary trader at Goldman Sachs. Following his attendance at Harvard Business School, Roth transitioned into alternative asset management by founding and running the institutional hedge funds Severn River and Sagamore Hill. Between 1999 and 2014, he successfully oversaw several billion dollars in total assets under management across these two financial investment vehicles. Today, his strategy targets pre-seed through Series B funding rounds, combining his financial expertise and engineering background to support emerging deep technology and genomics startups.
