Scott Casto

Scott Casto is a partner and co-founder at CMT Digital, a web3 venture capital firm backed by the proprietary trading company CMT Group. He began his early financial career in 1987 as an options trader at Chicago Research and Trading before establishing CMT Trading Group alongside Jan-Dirk Lueders in 1997. Casto holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and currently serves on the boards of several operating companies, including Creative Memories and Blue Book Services. Under his leadership, CMT Digital has expanded to employ nearly 200 people globally and has invested in more than 150 blockchain businesses, protocols, and tokens across three distinct funds. Drawing on over thirty years of experience in derivatives and risk management, Casto focuses on bridging traditional finance expertise with early stage digital asset and web3 infrastructure investments.
