Scott Bluestein

Scott Bluestein is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Hercules Capital. Since joining the firm in 2010 as Chief Credit Officer, he has overseen the lending policies and risk management for the organization's venture debt and direct investment portfolios. Before his tenure at Hercules, Bluestein was a founder and partner at Century Tree Capital Management, where he focused exclusively on senior secured debt investments. He previously served as a managing director at Laurus-Valens Capital Management managing structured debt portfolios, and worked in the Financial Technology Coverage Group at UBS Investment Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Emory University. With over 25 years of professional experience across various financial services, his current focus remains centered on venture debt lending, credit risk management, and strategic investment oversight.
