Scott Birnbaum is the Founder and Managing Partner of Red Sea Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York City. Before establishing the firm in 2011, he served as a corporate attorney focusing on mergers and acquisitions at White & Case LLP and worked as a Director of Strategy and Business Development for CBS Local. His entrepreneurial background includes co-founding the cloud-based enterprise collaboration platform Epok in 1999, following his education at Georgetown University and Fordham Law School. Over his 20-year career in technology and innovation, Birnbaum has directed seed and pre-seed investments into prominent consumer and enterprise startups, including Allbirds, Sweetgreen, and Nest, which was later acquired by Alphabet's Google. Today, his primary investment focus centers on supporting mission-driven founders building consumer and enterprise technology products designed for personal and professional empowerment.
