Saulo Tristao

Saulo Tristao is the Co-Founder and CEO of Facio, a financial technology startup based in São Paulo, Brazil. Founded in 2019 and backed by Y Combinator's Winter 2020 batch, the 36-employee company recently closed a seed round to provide salary advances and payroll credit alternatives to underserved Brazilian workers. Previously, he served as the Head of Marketing and Product at SumUp Brazil, where he joined as the second local employee to build and scale the payment company's regional operations. A former Olympic equestrian who competed for the Brazilian national team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he holds an MBA from Stanford GSB and an aerospace engineering degree from Universidade de São Paulo. Tristao currently leverages his diverse operational background and early engineering expertise to expand credit access for employees with limited traditional financial options.
