Sarah Applebaum

Sarah Applebaum is a Partner at Pangaea Ventures and Director of Pangaea Spark, based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She brings over a decade of venture capital experience to her dual roles, leading the firm's seed-stage investing activities across the advanced materials and climate technology sectors. Applebaum has directed Pangaea's capital investments into hard-tech startups such as PolySpectra, Correlia Biosystems, and pH7 Technologies, while also working closely with established portfolio companies like CarbonCure Technologies. Before entering the venture capital industry, she worked in sustainability consulting and earned an MBA from the Schulich School of Business alongside a BSc from Dalhousie University. Additionally, she serves as a mentor to the Singularity University Labs Accelerator. Her current focus remains on funding early-stage ventures that leverage materials science and chemistry to address global climate and health challenges.
