Sara Marquart is the CTO and Co-Founder of QOA, a Munich-based biotechnology company focused on developing one hundred percent cocoa-free chocolate alternatives. She holds a doctorate in Food Chemistry from TU Munich, where she studied and conducted specialized research under the guidance of Professor Hofmann. Prior to her current entrepreneurial venture, Marquart served as Chief Curator at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, where she directed the Cosmos Coffee exhibition and published two books on the subject. Her extensive background in sustainable food innovation also includes serving as Head of Flavor at the Coffee Excellence Center at Zurich University and working as Principal Scientist for a Seattle-based molecular coffee startup. As a passionate food chemist and biotech entrepreneur, she shares her expertise as a speaker at the 1E9 community, dedicating her career to engineering sustainable alternatives.
