Sano Takashi

Takashi Sano is the Chief Investment Officer at MUFG Innovation Partners, the corporate venture capital arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, based in Singapore. In this role, he oversees a portfolio of more than 50 active startups and manages approximately $650 million in assets under management across the United States, Israel, Asia, and Africa. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Sano worked at the Japanese venture capital firm Global Brain and held multiple leadership positions at Sony. During his tenure at Sony, he served as a finance controller for technology investments, managed the corporate venture capital fund for Sony Financial Holdings, and founded an internal startup that culminated in an M&A exit. His current focus centers on executing strategic financial technology investments that drive open innovation and facilitate collaboration between emerging startups and traditional financial services.
