Sanjay Singhal

Sanjay Singhal is the Managing Partner at Real Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Montreal, Quebec. Before joining the firm in 2022, he served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Lightspeed Commerce, where he contributed to the company's 2019 initial public offering. His earlier career includes executive positions at BlackBerry and engineering leadership roles at Nortel Networks. As an investor and advisor, Singhal has completed over 50 investments, holds board seats at more than 10 startups, and recently advised on funding rounds exceeding $100 million for artificial intelligence companies in 2024. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University, alongside engineering degrees from the University of British Columbia and the University of New Brunswick. His current focus centers on directing early-stage investments across the software-as-a-service, artificial intelligence, and financial technology sectors.
