Sandeep Murthy

Sandeep Murthy is a Partner and Managing Director at Lightbox, a venture capital firm he founded in 2014, and is based in Mumbai, India. He holds degrees in business and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and began his career in investment banking before founding and selling his digital music startup to Sony Music. Prior to Lightbox, Murthy spent nine years as a Partner managing India investments for Sherpalo Ventures and served as the CEO of online travel platform Cleartrip for three years. His investment track record includes early backing of the Indian technology unicorn InMobi, and he is currently raising a $200 million fourth fund targeting eight to ten companies with initial checks of $7 million to $10 million. Murthy focuses on capital-efficient venture investments, applying operational rigor to build sustainable consumer brands and technology companies.
