Samir Kumar

Samir Kumar is the Co-Founder and General Partner at Touring Capital, an investment firm focused on technically ambitious companies. Prior to this role, he served as the Managing Partner at M12, Microsoft's venture fund, where he led investment activities across various technology sectors. His earlier career includes senior product and strategic business development positions at major technology corporations, including Qualcomm's corporate research division, Samsung, and Palm. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and developed an initial focus on artificial intelligence after studying neural networks approximately 15 years ago. Throughout his venture capital career, he has backed numerous startups, with a portfolio featuring at least 7 notable investments such as Applied Intuition, PsiQuantum, and Netradyne. Kumar currently focuses his capital allocation on horizontal and vertical AI, deep tech, quantum computing, autonomous vehicles, and hardware-enabled software.
