Samir Hatef is the Managing Partner of Hatef Ventures, an early-stage investment vehicle based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to launching his fund in March 2024, he served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of mobile technology startups Luma and Adku, both of which culminated in acquisitions. Hatef studied entrepreneurship at San Jose State University before transitioning into the consumer internet and software sectors. As an active angel investor, he has built a portfolio of over 20 companies, including an early stake in Path, which was subsequently acquired by Kakao. He recently expanded his focus into artificial intelligence with a January 2025 investment in Nexlify and spoke at TechCrunch Disrupt. Hatef currently focuses on providing seed-stage capital and strategic advisory services to founders building mobile, consumer internet, and enterprise software platforms.
