Samina Farid

Samina Farid is a Managing Director at Golden Seeds in Houston, Texas, where she leads the local chapter of the national angel investment organization. Previously, she founded Merrick Systems, a global technology company providing software solutions for oil and gas production management that ultimately achieved a successful exit. Her corporate career began as a computer programmer at Esso Eastern in Pakistan before she advanced to executive leadership positions at both HNG and Enron. In 2018, she was selected as a Fellow at Harvard University's Advanced Leadership Initiative, and she currently serves on the board of directors for the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce and the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council. Farid now focuses her capital and advisory efforts on supporting early-stage, women-led technology and energy startups through direct venture investments and executive mentorship.
