Sami Niemi

Sami Niemi is a Partner at Spintop Ventures based in Malmö, Sweden, where he manages investments and supports portfolio growth. Before joining the venture capital firm full-time in 2016, he served as the Director of Photography within the Microsoft Windows group. His corporate tenure followed the 2012 acquisition of the technology company Scalado by Nokia, where he had played a key leadership role before the handset business transitioned to Microsoft. Niemi holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Lund Institute of Technology and previously co-founded the regional coworking space known as The Ground. Prior to his current partnership, he acted as an early investor, senior advisor, and investment committee member for Spintop. His current investment focus centers on scaling international product businesses and advancing emerging technologies, specifically targeting artificial intelligence, blockchain, and augmented reality sectors.
