Sami Ahvenniemi

Sami Ahvenniemi is a General Partner at Vendep Capital based in Helsinki, Finland, where he directs early-stage venture investments across the Nordic and Baltic regions. He began his technology career working alongside venture-backed software startups in Silicon Valley during the late 1990s before formally transitioning into the venture capital industry in 2002. Over the past two decades, he has managed the full investment lifecycle from initial fundraising to portfolio management and strategic exits. At Vendep Capital, Ahvenniemi recently helped close the firm's €80 million fourth fund in 2025, securing institutional capital from limited partners including Tesi and Elo to back breakout enterprise software companies like AlphaSense and Hostaway.
