Sameel Hayat

Sameel Hayat is the Co-Founder of Operations and Supply at Markaz Technologies, an emerging social commerce startup based in Islamabad, Pakistan. Founded in the final quarter of 2021, the enterprise participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2022 batch before securing $2.4 million in seed funding led by Indus Valley Capital in May 2022. In his executive capacity, Hayat directly manages the supply chain functions and operational logistics for the platform, overseeing a growing organization that currently employs a dedicated full-time staff of 55 people. He established the venture alongside a founding team that brings extensive prior corporate experience from major global and regional technology firms, including Amazon, Telenor, and Alipay. His current professional focus centers on building scalable e-commerce infrastructure to enable and support micro-entrepreneurship across developing markets throughout the broader South Asian economic region.
