Sam Simmons

Sam Simmons is a Partner at Dream VC, an emerging markets-focused venture capital institute and corporate advisory firm. Working alongside founders Mark Kleyner and Cindy Ai, as well as President Joe Kakaty and Venture Partner Sabrina Simonsen, Simmons focuses on developing investor talent and supporting African startup ecosystems. Through his leadership at the firm, he helps facilitate specialized educational programs designed specifically for emerging fund managers and corporate investors. These comprehensive initiatives have successfully graduated more than 250 venture capital fellows originating from over 50 different countries worldwide. Today, these program alumni collectively manage approximately $7 billion in total assets under management across various global investment funds and financial institutions. Simmons currently centers his professional efforts on expanding African venture capital capacity, structuring emerging markets investment strategies, and advancing specialized investor development to bridge critical funding gaps.
