Sam Karu

Sam Karu is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Logical, an artificial intelligence infrastructure startup established in 2023. Prior to founding Logical, he became the highest-performing Sri Lankan competitor in the history of the International Physics Olympiad and the Asian Physics Olympiad, securing two individual gold medals. Karu subsequently enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), researching discriminative and generative AI models for cellular and wireless communication systems. He ultimately withdrew from his PhD studies to work as a software engineer at NVIDIA, focusing on AI inference solutions and hardware-specific model optimizations. At Logical, he has successfully secured seed funding to build platforms that streamline enterprise AI model deployment and optimization. His current focus remains centered on advancing artificial intelligence infrastructure, hardware acceleration, and wireless communications.
