Sam Gichuru

Sam Gichuru is a software engineer and serial entrepreneur based in Nairobi, Kenya, who focuses on developing the broader African startup ecosystem. He previously founded Nailab, Kenya's first technology incubator and accelerator, where he supported more than 120 startups over a ten-year period and facilitated three corporate exits. During his tenure in ecosystem development, Gichuru structured an initial $10 million in funding for African small and medium-sized businesses in partnership with the Jack Ma Foundation. This specific initiative eventually expanded into a $100 million capital commitment for regional founders. He also co-founded Kuhustle, a freelance talent platform designed for African professionals that participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2023 accelerator batch. His current professional focus centers on leveraging education technology and incubation frameworks to address structural challenges and expand funding access for early-stage technology ventures.
