Sally Hatcher

Sally Hatcher is the Managing Partner at Buff Gold Ventures, an early-stage deep tech venture capital firm based in Boulder, Colorado. Previously, she co-founded and served as President of Precision Photonics Corp., a laser and opto-electronics manufacturer that she successfully scaled to over 50 employees before its acquisition. She also co-founded LightDeck Diagnostics, formerly known as MBio Diagnostics, and held senior management positions at two additional hardware-enabled data companies. As a national I-Corps instructor, Hatcher has trained numerous deep tech founders on commercialization strategies and early-stage venture development. She recently established accelerator programs for the University of Colorado Boulder and served as a mentor at the January 2026 New Women's Venture Challenge. Her current investment focus centers on supporting university-affiliated deep tech startups addressing critical global challenges in quantum technologies, climate change, and drug discovery.
